News: Archery Season On Target At Lilleshall

The annual Walsall Fita, which is one of the largest of the national outdoor shoots in the UK, returned to Lilleshall on the 5th & 6th May.
The event was well attended with over 400 archers present during the 2 day shoot. A particularly successful weekend was enjoyed by all, many of who camped at the centre, despite the changeable bank holiday weather.
On this occasion, no outstanding results were recorded but many of those participating suggested it was one of the most successful Fita's to date.
Business Manager, Lee Moore commented "The centre has recently
benefited from over £70K of investment to maintain Lilleshall's
status as a premier event and training centre for archery. A
brand new purpose built training area has been developed in
partnership with the Grand National Archery Society, together with
Sport England's and Leisure Connection's investment in a new
tournament timing/scoring system and over 100 new
targets".

- Between the 4th – 6th May, Stoke Mandeville was host to the Disability Sports Events Mini Games 2007. 70 6-12 year olds gathered at the home of disability sport to attend the numerous events.
